Vivel Aloe Vera 3-in-1 Face Wash+ Scrub

Finally Diwali is over and it is so bad to come back to the routine as I was really enjoying Diwali eating, shopping and decorating. I have a huge shelf filled with all different face washes. I cannot possibly even count them or rather I would get tired counting them. This is one of them. The purpose for which I got it was it was a face wash and scrub together. I got my IMBB sponsored product which was a daily scrub from Yes to tomatoes and I really liked the concept of cleaning the dead skin cells from my face daily with something like a 2-in-1 product.

Price: Rs. 90 for 100 ml

What Vivel says:

Your skin combats dirt, pollution, oiliness, sweat, germs and impurities on a daily basis making it lifeless and dull.

Vivel 3-in-1 face wash+scrub with the nourishing goodness of aloe vera and vitamin E, works in a 3 effective ways to give you soft, purified and glowing skin without drying.

Usage:

Apply on wet face. Gently massage in circular motions with fingertips avoiding the eye contour. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry. Use twice daily.

My say on Vivel aloe vera 3-in-1 face wash + scrub

Vivel is one brad that I have never tried before. So I neither had any love towards it nor hatred. I purchased this one because it was a scrub along with face wash. I have a lot of whiteheads of my nose so this helps me out everyday with that. The vivel face wash comes in a white inverted tube and has all blue fonts over it. I like how calm the tube looks because the combination looks good to me. This face wash tube can be easily carried along and there is no problem of leakage at all. It has a flip open cap which is again white in colour and very convenient to use and it also has a small hole in the middle of its mouth so that you get the amount of product you need. It claims of having natural ingredients like aloe vera and vitamin E which is very good for the skin.

Now coming to the texture of the product, it is a transparent gel face wash and the jojoba seeds could be easily seen in the gel which are blue in colour and not that harsh or delicate . They are perfect for everyday use it seems. The fragrance is a fresh aqua smell and it really is refreshing and not at all over powering. You can smell the fragrance only till the time you are washing the face and then it goes away; it does not linger around on the face which I like. Now this one can totally be put into the category of foaming face washes as it lathers up very well during washing the face. It effectively cleans the entire face and removes all the oil and impurities however it did make my skin soft and there was a subtle and soft glow on my face but it made my skin dry after rinsing. I have oily skin and still it made my skin dry so there was a need for a face cream. It will not at all suit dry skinned beauties and neither oily skinned beauties during winters. Overall I liked the face wash as it helps in everyday gentle exfoliation but it did make my skin very stretchy and dry will isn’t good and helpful during winters.

Pros of Vivel Aloe Vera 3-in-1 Face Wash+ Scrub

-Very affordable
-A big tube and the packaging is very decent and convenient
-Has a small hole in between so that required product comes out
-Great face wash+scrub for everyday exfoliation
-Gentle jojoba beads which are not harsh to sensitive skin as well
-Cleaned up the face very well and gave a subtle glow to the face after the wash
-Has natural ingredients like aloe vera and also contains vitamin E

Cons of Vivel Aloe Vera 3-in-1 Face Wash+ Scrub

-Opaque tube so you do not come to know how much product is left
-An ordinary face wash
-Made my skin very stretchy and dry after rinsing

Will I repurchase/recommend vivel aloe vera 3-in-1 face wash+scrub?

No I will neither buy it again nor recommend it because it will make every skin type dry and stretchy and I have used many face washes that suit my skin completely.

Organix Nutritional Acai Berry Avocado Conditioner

Hello sweetie pies,

Organix is one brand which gets my preference whenever I want to buy a new shampoo and conditioner. Although I am not a very loyal person in case of haircare but obviously Organix has become my HG brand in the case of shampoos and conditioners. I keep on switching shampoos but I always come back to this one. I had tried two variants last time from Organix and had a great experience, so I picked up two new variants from this brand again. I wanted to pick the shampoo and conditioner from the same range but they were not available, so picked two different fatties. Read on to know my experience.

Price: Rs 725 for 385 ml (Last time I got it for a less price and it seems that the prices have hiked a lot.)

Claims: It is a nutritional blend of natural vitamins, proteins and minerals for your hair’s total enrichment.

What to do?

After shampooing with Organix shampoo, apply Organix conditioner generously on hair, working through ends. Wait 3-5 minutes. Rinse hair thoroughly. For best results use in conjunction with other Organix products.

My take on Organix Nutritional Acai Berry Avocado Conditioner:

I had tried a different Organix shampoo earlier, which suited my hair very well and because of that I was expecting same results from this one too. I got this particular variant only because I liked their claim and I know what Organix say they deliver. This one looks damn gorgeous in dark pink coloured bottle. I just love pink stuff and anything that is pink attracts me towards itself. This is the second reason I got this one. The bottle is made up of plastic and is quite sturdy and fat which does not make it travel friendly (but I will manage to fit it in my bags if I have to carry it along). It has a golden flip cap which is very convenient to use and does not break my nails most importantly.

It claims to be made up of acai berry and guava which are the two fruits included in the blend. It also contains avocado proteins and also Moroccan oil, the benefits of which is well known. The texture is thick and it comes in a light purple colour and due to its thick consistency it glides very smoothly on my hair. I have used it along with an Organix shampoo only. I kept it for 3-5 minutes on hair and then washed it off with cold water. It smells like strawberry. This is the best smelling shampoo in my collection so far. Who wouldn’t like their shampoo smelling like strawberries? I have totally fallen for this fragrance.

The quantity too is sufficient for 2 months usage at least. It made my hair really smooth, soft and looked damage free. The main problem with my hair was frizzy ends. Using a serum along gives me gorgeous, shiny and manageable hair. I am in love with these Organix products and would recommend it for all hair types as well.

Pros of Organix Nutritional Acai Berry Avocado Conditioner:

-A very fat bottle so the quantity is great
-Attractive pink and golden packaging
-It contains many natural extracts like guava, avocado and acai berry
-It also contains Moroccan oil and you all know the benefits of it
-It smells like real berries; The fragrance is just yummy and delicious
-It made my hair very soft, manageable, damage-free and frizz free when there was no oil in my hair
-Formula without SLS or parabens
-I got everything from this conditioner that I wanted

Cons of Organix Nutritional Acai Berry Avocado Conditioner:

-The frizz does not completely go away when you wash your hair after oiling
-Big bottle so not travel friendly
-Little on the expensive side
-Availability is limited

Will I repurchase/ recommend Organix Nutritional Acai Berry Avocado Conditioner?

Yes I totally recommend this one as this is a very good conditioner and people are always looking for products without SLS and parabens and this is the brand that might make a space in your list. It is a complete formula for healthy hair and yes if not this variant I will buy any other shampoo or conditioner from this brand itself.

I am sure the festive season is going great for everyone and count it as one more reason for shopping..!! I got this shampoo just to be on a safe side because I don’t know why I start getting little dandruff during winters but thank god that doesn’t last. I have seen ad about this one and the second reason was it claimed to give me a cooling sensation while shampooing, so thought of giving it a try. Let’s explore this one in further detail.

My views on clear anti dandruff shampoo ice cool menthol

I am not much aware about the dandruff shampoos and neither have I used many so this was just a random pick. My dandruff was really less so I did not have to use it continuously. I used it thrice and passed it on to my brother. The shampoo comes in a white long square shaped bottle which looks very handy the reason being small in size. It claims of having minerals, vitamins and nutrients. But so far for me it was hard to believe as who would give you all this is 60 bucks? Anyways there are bigger sizes available in this one too. There is a very big list of ingredients as well god knows what are they? The shampoo comes in minty colour with a nice thick texture.

The fragrance is a citrusy kind of a fragrance which indeed smells very fresh and invigorating as they have claimed. The shampoo did not lather much on my hair, the scalp was washed but I had to take more shampoo to wash the ends as well. It cleaned my hair properly but that fresh feeling what they were talking about was not there. Although it worked great on the dandruff part, whatever dandruff I had soon vanished away in 3 washes. It did not give any cooling sensation to my scalp although I waited for 33 minutes after the application but still no cooling feeling at all. I made my hair feel normal but I did not like it as a shampoo as I have used loads of shampoo better than this one; it just did a good job on the dandruff part. However when I asked my brother, he told he got that nice cooling sensation just because he had taken bath with chilled water and I had opted for hot water, but how does that make a difference, but I am glad he likes it with cold water, atleast the shampoo wouldn’t go waste. Overall it is a no no product as a shampoo because it did not give any great softness or smoothness but it did a great job for the dandruff and that is what I wanted. It would be of a great use to men as they have tiny hair and they don’t really nag like us.

-Available everywhere
-Handy and tiny
-The fragrance is very fresh and citrusy
-Did a good job for the dandruff; I had minor dandruff and it completely went away in 3 washes

-I did not like it as a shampoo as it did not make my hair soft or smooth
-That cooling menthol feel was not there; and my bro got that feeling just because he took bath with cold water

Will I repurchase/recommend clear anti dandruff shampoo ice cool menthol?
I will purchase it when I feel that I am getting that bad dandruff again but not for now. I will recommend it to ladies who are facing dandruff problems, do surely try this one.

VLCC Insta Fair and Glow Moisturizing Cold Cream Review

I am really waiting for the winters to arrive because it is my favourite season; having hot noodles and coffee at home, wearing pullovers and hoodies and getting lot of winter skin care. I was really tired of Pond’s Cold Cream, Fair and Lovely Winter Moisturizer and Lakme Winter Care.  I saw this one in a shop and it claimed to be a cold cream, so I got it and the main reason was that my skin tends to become dark during winters and I lose all the glow from my face and it becomes very dull and the skin tears up badly. This would work out the best with its face wash and scrub, but I have a lot of face washes, so I got only this cream.

Price:

Rs. 60 for one (but I got 2 tubs).

Directions For Use:

My Experience with VLCC Insta Fair and Glow Moisturizing Cold Cream:

As you know, cold creams are one of the essentials for winter care routine. Although, I am not getting that chilling feeling, my skin has already started to become dry and parched.  This cold cream comes in a very flat tub.  Being a plastic tub and flat in size, it is super easy to carry and will fit anywhere, even in a small sling bag.  The main ingredients are licorice and mulberry which are fairness agents and licorice has always worked for me. The cold cream is pure white in colour, like most of the cold creams and is semi-thick, a little less thick than body butters. I think they have only mentioned to use it on the face, but this looks fine to use on the body as well, but I have a lot of body lotions, so I am using it only on the face. My mom and brother are also using this one along with me. The fragrance is a nice scented one and I think it contains artificial fragrance, but I liked it and it is pretty mild after application.

The cold cream feels a bit heavy on the skin and does not absorb quickly as well, and a lot of massaging and time is needed for it to get finally absorbed. It feels a bit greasy on the skin, so not suitable during the day when you have to go out. I am studying currently and so sitting at home, and I am using this almost twice a day followed by my night cream. Also, it does not contain SPF.

I observed that I got very tiny breakouts as I have oily skin and any cold cream would break me out because they are so thick and heavy with an oily formula.  My mom did not have any break outs as she does not have oily skin. This will suit all skin types; very good for dry skin, but may break out oily skin a bit.  I am happy that although it did not make my skin any fairer, my skin did not turn dark either which used to happen until last year with other cold creams.

Pros of VLCC Insta Fair and Glow Moisturizing Cold Cream:

• Very affordable.
• Quantity is very great and you need a pea-sized amount every day, so this will go a long way.
• Nice scent which is mild and not overpowering at all.
• Convenient packaging and a flat tub, so easy to carry.
• Contains mulberry and licorice which are fairness agents; I did not see any major fairness but my skin used to turn dark during winters which did not happen after using this cream.
• Very moisturizing for dry skin.
• Makes my skin soft and supple when I get up in the morning.

Cons of VLCC Insta Fair and Glow Moisturizing Cold Cream:

• May break out oily skin a bit; but gave me the smallest pimples which couldn’t even be noticed and they disappeared in a day and think any cold cream would make my oily skin break out.
• Does not contain SPF.
• Makes the skin a bit greasy, so I cannot apply it while going out.
• Limited availability.

Will I Repurchase/Do I Recommend VLCC Insta Fair and Glow Moisturizing Cold Cream?

I already have two tubs and they will go a long way, so not thinking of repurchasing, but I will surely get it the next winter. It is suitable for dry skinned people and for oily skinned ones, it broke out my skin a little but the pimples are very small in size and barely noticeable.

Outfit of the day: Butterfly Dress with Orange Accents

Hello ladies,

Hello guys!!I am here back with one more OOTD. My exams are coming up so thought of doing a final last minute shopping as I won’t get time later one. My days are going so tough that I don’t know what’s wrong with me. Given a chance of sleeping 20 hours from 24, I can still manage to sleep without getting bored. For studying I can’t get up early in the morning nor can be a nightangle, God knows what to do. I wore a cute frock which is white in colour and has royal blue butterflies in it and this has an elastic on the waist line so that looks very pretty and they have a tie thing which is used to form a bow at the back.

I wore a silver rings patterned necklace which can come into a statement necklace category. I paired it up with orange accents. Actually that shade goes into the shade card of orange but goes a little bit on the rust side. I wore high heeled stilettos which are very comfortable and I always feel like I am wearing flats. This is such a good part of my collection. Along with that I took an orange sling bag that has skeleton faces over it and it looked very stylish to me at the very first sight so I had to get it.

For hair, I had pinned up my bangs because during shopping they prick into the eyes whenever they want. And for my make-up I kept it simple, Maybelline BB cream, LA colors blush in natural, Maybelline gel liner and Streetwear satin smooth lipstick in pink pie.
I hope you guys liked this cute ootd of mine.. I think this will be my last ootd for this month as my final board exams are coming up and I am totally packed..But I am sure I will visit IMBB each day with my comments and reviews as I just cannot survive without IMBB…!!

As in my earlier post on Organix nutritional acai berry avocado conditioner, I mentioned everything about organix how it has made my hair care even better so I will straight away jump onto the product for the day,that is a shampoo from organix. I have always had thin and fine hair and after rebonding my hair looks more flat, so I almost lost all the volume I had. This one claimed to give volume to my hair and will make the strands appear thicker, so had to try this out for sure.

My experience with Organix Thick and Full Biotin and Collagen Shampoo

Not talking much I will straight away tell you about the packaging of the product. It comes in a fat plastic purple bottle and the packaging of all the organix products looks very attractive to me as they come in such cute colours. The pink and purple shampoo conditioner combo looks very good on my bathroom shelf. The cap is golden in colour and very convenient to open. The bottle is very heavy due to the quantity so wouldn’t be called travel-friendly. It has all the product description and usage mentioned on the bottle. The way that they have written the description looks very cute to me. The consistency is a bit runny and it lathers up very well and makes the scalp really clean. The shampoo comes purple in colour and the fragrance is amazing. It smells of vanilla and milk chocolate. The fragrance is a bit mild after rinsing but you can smell it all over when washing the hair. I love the shampoos which have such yummy and delicious fragrance. The quantity is great and may last for 2 months if used thrice in a week and the main thing that we all look out for is a formula without SLS and parabens. That is the main reason I am loyal to this brand. As soon as I rinsed my hair after shampooing, my hair did feel thick. I took all my hair in one hand and immediately after the first wash, my ponytail looked and felt thicker. Don’t think that your volume will double up but definitely my hair got a little volume and my hair did not look flat. Plus this shampoo contains wheat proteins and biotin and as you all know biotin is the most important ingredient for healthy hair. At times I feel that my hair become rough after rinsing as the shampoo thickens up my hair. But the conditioner and the serum help in removing all the tangles that the shampoo gives me. I really love this shampoo as it gives me soft and smooth hair along with  the desired volume and the needed proteins and vitamins for healthy hair.

Pros of Organix Thick and Full Biotin and Collagen Shampoo:

-Big bottle along with very good quantity
-Very attractive colourful packaging
-A formula without SLS and parabens
-Great consistency and lathers very well too
-Amazing fragrance of vanilla and white milk chocolate which is mild

-It made my hair smooth and soft after every wash
-Made my strands thick and I could feel it and it gave the desired volume to my hair as my hair looked very flat before
-Contains biotin and wheat proteins

-Big sturdy bottle, so not easy to carry

-Limited availability in India
-Makes the hair thick but at times the feeling is rough after rinsing but becomes soft after they have completely dried.

Will I repurchase/recommend Organix Thick and Full Biotin and Collagen Shampoo?
Yes I will totally recommend it to people who have thin flat hair like me, surely try this and see if is reacting the same way as it did for me. And I will surely buy this again as it serves the purpose of getting this and people with thick voluminous hair avoid this as it may make your hair too thick and rough.

VLCC Snigdha Skin Whitening Face Mask

Hello sweethearts,

Let me confess that anything that claims “Skin lightening” always attracts me and everytime I end up buying that product. I got this one along with my VLCC insta fair and glow cold cream and I think this is a new launch from this brand. They have also launched night cream and day creams and these existed I guess but had limited availability. I got only this face mask because I had loads of days and night creams with me. Let’s see how it worked for me.

Price: Rs 150 for 80 g

What VLCC says: This mask visibly works on dark spots/marks on the skin, imparts glow to reveal brighter skin tone. With regular weekly usage, it reveals brighter, even skin tone. Wash and pat dry the face.

Directions for use: Take appropriate amount of pack on the finger tips and spread out uniformly all over the face and neck in thin layer. Leave it for 15 minutes. After drying wash the face with water and pat dry. Suitable for all skin types.

My take on VLCC Snigdha Skin Whitening Face Mask:

We all love skin whitening face masks, don’t we? I am a lover of such masks and keep on trying new stuff. This one claims to contain lemon as well which you all know is a natural bleaching agent for the skin. I like applying lemon juice but at times it irritates the skin badly and burns a lot so this might be a good alternative for lemon juice. It has aloe vera too which is a soothing agent and both to a very good extent help with complexion and marks. Coming to this one, it comes in a cute plastic tube which is white and pink in colour and very travel friendly and the shape almost resembles a face wash tube. I like such white packaged tubes and it has a white cap too which is a flip open one. They claim it is suitable for all skin type.

The texture of the mask is creamy and clay type although it does not contain clay. It comes in a pure white colour and I feel it looks attractive on the face, lol. The mask being a little thick in consistency will take a little time to apply evenly on the face however if you want an easy spread mixing it with rose water will help. I have really sensitive skin so it stings a little while applying but it goes away after some time. I waited for 20 minutes and then washed off my face with cold water. The mask was really easy to remove. It made my skin very soft, but it felt a little dry too maybe because I think my skin has already gone into the winter stage but the dryness was not so much to be bothered about. My BB cream being a little tough to blend, blended easily and the moisturiser also got absorbed into the skin nicely. It did make my skin look bright and fair at the moment and using it continuously every week will only give results.

Do not expect magical results with just couple of applications. With continuous use it did gave me good results but I have been using different products as well along with this one so cannot accurately tell how well it satisfies its scar reduction claim but I for sure know that it has helped my skin as my skin looked really bright after using it just once.

Pros of VLCC Snigdha Skin Whitening Face Mask:

-Good price and good quantity
-A whole whitening range available
-Easy to use and good and convenient packaging
-The product has a mild fragrance which is lovely
-Easy to remove and no need to use a face wash after that
-Made my skin very soft and the moisturiser got absorbed nicely and smoothly
-Made my face look brighter after one use only and continuous use will help a little on the fairness and acne scars part
-Has ingredients like lemon and aloe vera

Cons of VLCC Snigdha Skin Whitening Face Mask:

-The mask is a bit thick so may take time to spread evenly
-A little drying post washing so a need of a moisturiser; but very little dryness was faced

Will I repurchase/recommend?

Ofcourse yes as it suited my skin very nicely and I have acne scars so I will use it continuously and get a new one when required. And I will tell everyone to try it out once as it will give you everything that a face mask has too and it is pretty affordable too.

Happy winters finally!! I went out yesterday night and I could actually feel that chilly breeze. And the time has come for us to enter into the hoarding phase of lip balms and lip butters. I have so many lip balms that it will take almost 6 months to finish them up but some of them are in tubs so whenever I see any stick lip balm then I am attracted to pick it up. The online store was offering a good discount so I picked this up. This range from Palmer’s and the olive oil range are quite famous and the stuff is trustworthy too. So let’s go in a detail about this stick.

My experience with Palmer’s cocoa butter formula with vitamin E swivel stick

I got this for my night time use as the best treatment of the lips could be done overnight when you are fast asleep. I was already using the biotique’s aloe vera lip balm and that was in a pot form and this came out with a stick so I am currently using it for night time. It pretty much looks like the blue and yellow coloured fevi-stick; the looks are the same and the size as well. It has a blue, orange and a brown packaging with all the details written over it and the stick is white in colour. Now the double benefit that I get from this one is that it treats my marks or blemishes I would say as well as will heel my chapped lips during winter. This can also be used on the entire face and I think it will be great for dry skin but not for oily skin as it is a bit greasy and heavy. It is easy to carry and use as well but is huge in size as compared to other lip balms. The quantity is also quite more for the price that they take. The packaging is a twisty one, as you twist the lower portion the lip balm comes out. The colour of the stick is off white and the texture being very soft, a lot of product may get used in one swipe and now I come to the best part of it that is the fragrance. It smells like the yummiest cocoa butter in the entire world.

It smells exactly like milkybar chocolate and I think even better than that. I was constantly preventing myself from taking a big bite lol. It smells heavenly and delicious. This has convinced me to buy more of the cocoa butter range products as well. Any-time I am getting bored I just go and smell this lip balm and it gives me such a good feeling. It does not have any SPF content and I think if they improve upon this then it would become a perfect lip balm. It keeps my lips hydrated for a long time but it lasts completely for about 2 hours but I only use it when I am home and at night as well because it feels a little heavy on the lips and it does not give any colour and I like tinted lip balms better when I am out. But it is a very good night treatment for chapped and dry lips. It can also be used on scars but the thing it direct application from the stick can be done either on lips or scars because applying it on scars and then lips is totally yuck! I apply it on scars by taking a little on my fingers. My scars are bad so I dint attach a picture but in 6 days my scars have totally reduced after using it twice a day. Reduction can be noticed every day. I clicked a picture and kept and I could see it but not all kinds of stubborn scars can be treated by this so do not expect very fast results. Overall it is a nice one for a night treatment.

-Affordable and the quantity is quite more than the normal lip balms and the size is big as well
-Has a twisty thing at the bottom so you twist it up and the lip balm comes up

-The fragrance is the best cocoa butter fragrance ever that I have sniffed and smells like milk chocolate somewhat like lindt milk chocolate or milky bar
-Will treat dry and chapped lips and can also be used to treat the dryness on face
-It can also be used on blemishes or scars and I could see a difference in the size of the scars and redness in 6 days

 Cons of Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula with Vitamin E Swivel Stick

-Does not contain SPF
-I don’t apply it in the morning as it feels very heavy on the lips and you get a waxy feeling
-It does not give out any colour, I like tinted lip balms more for outings
-Can be used as a moisturiser for dry skin but not for oily skin because it will feel heavy and will make the face more greasy and may cause break outs

Will I repurchase/ recommend Palmer’s cocoa butter formula with vitamin E swivel stick?

Yes I will for winters as it is heavy so will treat the dry and chapped lips completely and it does have a heavenly fragrance which I am sure everyone will love. I have loads of lip balms to try currently so haven’t decided whether I will get one more of this or not.

Maybelline Baby Lips Color In Pink Peony SPF 16

Hello guys,

How are you all doing? I could not write a review for last few days because of my exams and they are still on but in some way I felt incomplete not talking to you guys, so thought of sparing some time from my studies and write a review. My 20th birthday was on 22nd and I got soo many gifts and yummy cakes that I was really happy to have such good people in my life. But due to my exams I couldn’t celebrate a lot, I just saw Ramleela and went out for dinner. And I totally couldn’t forget the cheese fries that I had last night; it was sooo damn yummy and delicious full of gooey cheese. So coming to this one, I picked this as a birthday gift for myself accompanied with many more. Let’s further read about this.

Price: Rs 150 for 1 (I got 2 of them)

Directions: Turn the base 1-2 times for usage. Reapply when lips are exposed to strong sun, wind or cold for maximum protection.

My take on Maybelline Baby Lips Color In Pink Peony SPF 16:

I would start off by saying that I got the perfect tinted lip balm. It has everything that I want, everything desired. I had never heard of this range that something like this also existed. It claims to be the new bright collection along with colour. The packaging is super cute. It looks so cute to be gifted to someone. The lip balm as you all know has a trademark packaging and this one comes in a bright pink colour. It is very handy and fits in the pocket too and looks cute in the closet too. I haven’t opened the second packet as it looks so pretty in the cupboard. The inner lip balm is also bright pink in colour and the fragrance is of berries although you can only smell it when you apply it and later on it just lingers a little and then fades off in sometime.

The colour pay-off is really good as it gives a nice pink tint to the lips which looks very sweet and natural on the lips. Although it wouldn’t be called as bright but whatever it is I loved the shade and I am happy that I got 2 even without trying it. However this one would not show up on pigmented lips but it gives a nice shine which will look good on everyone. It contains SPF as well and that is the main thing that I needed, the product content is low but for lips it is fine. It is very moisturising and will work great for dry lips too and makes them completely hydrated. It does not last for 6 hours but will last for a time of 3 hours but re-application helps me. I just love this range I have so many of them but will get some more as it hydrates the lips, keeps them from chapping or drying up, gives a nice pink tint and has SPF too. It can be concluded as a full-fledged worthy combo.

Pros of Maybelline Baby Lips Color In Pink Peony SPF 16:

-Comes from a very trusted brand and you know how famous this range is!
-Very cute and attractive outer packaging as well as the packaging of the lips balm
-Handy and will fit in the pockets too
-Gives a nice pink tint which looks very natural and gorgeous
-It contains SPF 16 and that is must
-It helps to repair the dry and chapped lips with continuous use
-Smooth texture so glides like heaven
-Does not feel heavy on lips and lasts for about 3 hours completely and then re-application is needed

Cons of Maybelline Baby Lips Color In Pink Peony SPF 16:

-6 hours claim is not true
-They call it the bright collection but it is not that bright actually
-The pink tint will not show up on pigmented lips

Will I repurchase or recommend?

Hell yes! I mean how can someone even stay without having baby lips. I just love this range and I am sure everyone does. I totally recommend it and will purchase it all my life and this shade is a priority.

I recently saw a review of this range on IMBB.  I have used this one before and when the online store offered a flat 30% discount on this brand, I surely had to get it. They send me such discounts every 5 days and I just cannot stop myself from getting stuff; may God help me to control this habit because at times it happens that we get necessary stuff but this was the one that I genuinely wanted, so got it. I have used this one before , o this is my second tub of this particular product.

My Take on Palmer’s Olive Oil Formula Gro Therapy:

Anything that has olive oil attracts me a lot as I prefer olive oil for my damaged hair. I am using the oil that was suggested by Shivani in her DIY, so couldn’t compromise on olives too in any case, so thought of getting this one too. I have not tried anything so far from this range other than this product, but I am planning to get some more stuff as it works really well. This one comes in a huge and heavy sturdy green tub and the look of it is very attractive, in an eco-friendly green colour. Since it is too heavy, it cannot be termed as travel friendly and the quantity is amazing. If we consider the price and quantity, it will easily last for 4 months even if you apply it everyday to your scalp and hair shaft.  It is also made with organic oil, so it would be a good alternative to the extra virgin olive oil. It has a paper kind of a thing on the lid and you open it and it has a whole lot of information and instructions which makes the product even more credible.

I thought it would be creamy like other hair masks, but when I actually opened it, I could see a waxy thing, olive green in colour.  It is like a balm, waxy and oily.  The consistency is thick which may in turn make the hair greasy and oily. The fragrance isn’t that happening too as it smells a bit like wax and some hair oil mixed together.  I apply it like an oil and keep it full day and overnight when I do not have to leave the house because it makes hair very greasy and oily.  Since they have mentioned to apply it on the scalp, I feel like it is a complete oil and not just a balm. I have very thin hair and after applying this, my hair become totally flat and I cannot just go out with such oily hair. I think this is not suitable for thin hair, so it can be used as a spa when at home. It feels very heavy on the hair and causes a lot of build-up too if used every day, so a clarifying shampoo along with this is a must, but the results after washing are amazing.

The hair becomes soft, smooth, shiny, manageable and frizz-free as well. It reduces the damage and makes hair look healthy, but I did not notice any growth, there was minor growth but I think that is natural growth and not because of this product. Overall, the product is good for overnight use as it penetrates deep inside and you will notice a difference in the health of the hair if used continuously.

Pros of Palmer’s Olive Oil Formula Gro Therapy:

• Amazing quantity, will last for 4 months if used every day on scalp and hair shaft as well.
• Affordable.
• Available everywhere and has a complete olive oil range too.
• Contains extra virgin olive oil and lot of vitamins to nourish the hair.
• Will be a good alternative to olive oil.
• Will totally improve the health of the hair if used over a period of time and you can notice that.
• Can be used as a spa treatment.
• Made my hair soft, smooth, shiny and reduced the damage.
• Attractive packaging and the information is given in an excellent manner.

Cons of Palmer’s Olive Oil Formula Gro Therapy:

• A big tub, not travel friendly.
• It is very heavy in texture, makes hair greasy and oily, will flatten them down.
• The fragrance is like an oil.
• Cannot go out with this formula on my hair because it makes hair oily.
• Causes build-up due to very thick consistency.
• Hair growth could be seen, only minimum.
• Has to be followed with shampoo and conditioner.

Will I Repurchase/Do I Recommend Palmer’s Olive Oil Formula Gro Therapy?

It is really good if you want to use it as a spa or an oil overnight because it works exactly like olive oil, but you just cannot apply this and get out of the house because it is greasy and and I will not repurchase as I have already purchased two tubs and I will give something else a shot rather than getting this again.

VLCC Party Glow Facial Kit

Facial kits are one of my necessities as at times I feel really lazy to go out and get a facial done. So whenever I get bored or feel that my skin looks tired and dull, I use these kits. I use it on my mom and mom gives me a facial which is very soothing and relaxing. This facial kit claims to give an instant glow. So we tried it on my mom before going to a function. Let’s see how this one worked for her and later on I tried it on myself too.

Price: Rs 175 ( I got a buy one get one free offer along with a face wash free.. but I don’t like that face wash as such)

Description: VLCC party glow facial provides instant glow to your skin leaving it fairer, radiant and nourished.

Our experience with VLCC Party Glow Facial Kit:

I have always quite liked the VLCC facial kits. My mom had to go to a function a few days ago and her skin looked pretty tired, so I thought of giving her a facial since I was done with my exams. The quantity of each and every content atleast for this price is super good. The packaging is great too and the colour looks so eco-friendly and bright, looking at the outer packaging only I get refreshed. But the only problem with this is that the entire content sachet does not get used up in one go; either it has to be kept cut inside the box which may create a mess or has to be stapled. Now I will move on to the detailed review of each content separately.

(Note: All of the above mentioned contents were used along with chilled ice water to ensure a smooth massage because if they are used alone, they become really harsh and drying on the skin)

Step 1: Indian berberry face scrub

Indian Berberry face scrub that helps in exfoliation and rejuvenation of the skin and leaves it clean and refresh, porcelains and retexturises, cleans and refreshes the skin. Date extract and papaya deep cleanses and moisturises the skin.

Directions: Apply evenly on wet face and neck. Leave it on for 2-3 minutes. Then massage gently in circular motions for 3-4 minutes and then rinse it off.

The indian berberry scrub comes in a whitish grey coloured paste along with small granules in it. My mom loves harsh granules but this was somewhere meant for all the skin types. The granules were fine, not that tiny that no feeling of exfoliation arrives and not that harsh too. And mom was feeling like all the granules were just peeling out the excess dirt and oiliness from here skin and also the dull skin caused due to everyday pollution. I massaged it on her for like 8 minutes and the fragrance lingered all the time. It was really refreshing and was great to give a good kick start to the facial. After cleansing it up her skin looked glowy and bright for time being as the dull dehydrated skin had gone away.

Step 2: Saffron massage gel

Saffron massage gel, ultra light massage gel that combines the virtues of Mulberry and Saffron lightens and brightens the skin while improving its texture.

Directions: Apply on clean skin and massage gently in upward and circular strokes with wet finger tips for 8-10 minutes.

The saffron massage gel was the best part of this entire kit. It comes in a gel form which is orangish pink in colour and seems pretty transparent on face. And oh my god the fragrance is just amazing; it actually smells like saffron and a floral blend. It gives a very soothing feeling to the skin and one might get relaxed even if only this step is used. My mom instantly felt a cooling feeling and she was half asleep but then my naughty brother came and woke her up. This gets the skin to the softest level and the skin feels baby soft but this has to be used with wet fingertips as if used without it; it will get absorbed in a minute and hence no opportunity to massage. Then after 10 minutes of massage I cleansed the gel with a sponge and mom’s skin has transformed for a while totally.

Step 3: Snigdha face cream

Snigdha face cream, enriched with skin lightening co-agents like Mulberry and Lemon peel extract lightens skin pigmentation without dehydrating the skin and makes it look fairer and radiant.

Directions: Apply generously on clean skin and massage gently in circular and upward strokes for 10 minutes and rinse it off.

Next came the step to massage with a cream. The consistency of the cream is like a smooth milky paste and comes in a pure white colour. It spread on the face like dream. It will be suitable for people with dry skin especially during winters. This step gave a warm feeling on the face while massaging and I don’t think that any content should give a warm feeling after such a cooling sensation given by the gel. But my mom liked it on her face, so in some case worked out for her. This added a little glow but yes the skin looked bright and was ready for a steam. I massaged this for 10 minutes and then mom directly took a steam. But the only problem here was it smelled bad.

Step 4: Insta glow face pack

Insta glow face pack contains Lavender and Rosemary to brighten the complexion, giving it a characteristic luminosity, radiance and softness.

Directions: Apply a generous layer on the face and let it be for 20 minutes and wipe it off with cold water.

My mom took a steam and I cleaned all her pores, blackheads and whiteheads with the blackhead tool and the pores were totally cleaned up so then was the time for the face mask. The mask was white in colour and was easy to spread but it got dried up in like 7-8 minutes so then mom washed it off with cold water. The fragrance again was amazing like a flower so I am glad that atleasst the closing fragrance was good.

Overall verdict: This is a very good kit for facials at home at that price. The entire glow that my mom had on her face was really good and her skin looked perfect for a function but somewhere I felt that this kind of instant glow is the glow we get after doing any kind of facial; I mean this gave a glow but nothing that special or different from others, so I wouldn’t think of getting it again but wouldn’t even mind using it up rather I would get papaya fruit facial kit from VLCC because that is the best one that I liked from the entire VLCC range.

Will I recommend/ repurchase VLCC party glow facial kit?

No I won’t be repurchasing it and neither would recommend it, rather if you want to try then go for fruit facial kits from Joy and VLCC; they work really well and will totally give a relaxing feeling.

Joy Lip Guard

Hello sweeties,
I must have told you guys about my lipbalm obsession in winters. I think it is necessary for every girl to maintain a pretty and cute collection of lip balms in her closet. I have almost of about 13 lip balms some in tubs and some in a stick form. I was using Palmer’s swivel stick for night treatment but sooner I found out that it was doing an amazing job for my blemishes, so I decided to keep that for blemishes and had to get some new balms. So I saw these joy ones online and got them because the lip balms I have are some tinted ones to be saved for day time. Me and my mom both use this one and at times my bro too.

Price: Rs 96 for 4 (I thought they would give me two, but instead I got 4 and I am totally clueless what I am going to do with these 4)

My experience with Joy Lip Guard:

This was the most random purchase of my life as I really do not need any more lip balms, but then only other option was my biotique lip balm tub which is like really tiring to apply before sleeping when I am half asleep; I wanted something handy that would just take 5 seconds to apply. I got 4 of these but I was expecting only 2 of them. They look very much like Vaseline tubes so I just disliked the packaging but on the other hand it is very handy and I keep one on my bedside table, so it is in reach whenever I need it.

It comes in a plastic white tube and a blue cap and has fonts and design in blue and pink but at this price I really cannot ask for more. And oh my god at this price also they gave me 20% extra. The application part is very convenient as it has a small hole which gives out the required product. The consistency of the product is thick when you press the tube but as soon as it appears on your lips it glides very smoothly and it feels very light on the lips; neither waxy nor heavy. The balm is pretty much transparent and does not give out any tint but gives a nice shiny finish to the lips and they appear to look healthy and fresh. It has a nice floral scent which is far better than Vaseline and my issue with Vaseline tube was whenever the balm goes into my mouth it gives a very bad flavour and itch to my throat which does not happen with this one. The fragrance lingers around for a while but is not irritating or overwhelming.

I apply it before going to bed on my lips and upper lip area and it does last for like 5 hours because it was still there at around 5 am when I got up for water. By late morning , the lip balm was not there completely but 50% of it was there. So I was pretty much surprised and by morning my lips were very soft and fresh and after using in only for 3 days my chapped lips had gone. So concluding I would say that not the best one but ofcourse for the price it is the best thing I have got and this works better than Vaseline tube for sure and it contains vitamin E too which has great benefits for the skin but I will see to it that I finish them before winter because I do not like using such lip guards after winter; I like the tinted lip balms better.

Pros of Joy Lip Guard:

-Dirt cheap
-Very handy and easy application as it just takes 5-10 seconds
-Superb quantity given and they gave 20% extra as well
-Contain fruit extracts and vitamin E
-The fragrance is a nice floral one and lingers for a while
-It does not feel heavy or waxy on the lips; it is very light weight
-Gives a nice shine to the lips and makes it appear healthy and fresh
-Repaired my chapped lips in 3 days but my lips were not that dry
-Can be used for the area around mouth too during harsh winters and is effective on that part too.

Cons of Joy Lip Guard:

-Very boring packaging
-No SPF so I use it only during night time
-No tint; it is just very plain
-Limited availability

Will I repurchase/recommend Joy Lip Guard?

I think I need to laugh at the question of repurchasing because I already have 4 and even if all my family members use it they won’t get over this winter and yes if you find it somewhere do surely get it for harsh winters and though it sounds cheap it is really good and will not disappoint you.
